PAHL-Community Forum a Success!
The PAHL meeting at Knollwood Elementary School for Belvedere Park, as well as other neighborhoods in our cluster was well attended and informative. Plus the food and company was fantastic!
We learned that Officer Zellers from Code Enforcement is working on our neighborhood hotlist (the 3 houses our neighborhood has identified as the worst offenders of code violations in the area). He explained the process and why the whole effort takes time. Please see the link to the code complaint form if you would like to get the department on the case of a house near you.
We also met the Emory fellows that will be working with our neighborhood on the Dekalb Sustainable Neighborhood Initiative. Through a series of short exercises we were able to demonstrate what we love about our community and explain what needs improvement. We also were able to give input on what we felt the priorities for neighborhood development should be. The fellows are helping to create an action plan for the neighborhood. If you would like to provide input, but were unable to attend the meeting please contact Maria Rossoto.
